1. Games start at 8.00 pm on Tuesdays.
  2. You can only play in one team unless a ‘Bystander’ team is being used.
  3. FOUR in a team. YOU CAN PLAY WITH 2 OR 3 PLAYERS BUT THESE RULES THEN APPLY
    i. On the individual 3/2/1 rounds (Rd 1/4/6) the question will go straight to the team for 2 pts
ii. On the head to head round, after players have chosen their topics, ONE leftover topic can be offered to the short handed team.
The QM will place a playing card face down in front of each team member. The opposing team will then choose number 1, 2, or 3. The team then turn over their cards and whoever has the selected numbered card will answer the topic.
Teams with only 2 players will answer the first topic not selected on the list of topics leaving 1 topic unanswered.
  4. Although teams must register their players at the start of the season, players can be added during the season.
  5. If a team cannot play its fixture, their opposition will be awarded the match and given the score of the average winning team on that night. The absent team will be awarded the lowest score of the night. Teams unable to play please contact us ASAP
  6. Players arriving late can join the quiz as soon as any question being currently asked is answered.
  7. No substitutions are allowed during a match.
  8. No late players can enter the quiz once round 5 has started.
  9. A team member leaving the room during a match can only rejoin after the current question is answered.
  10. THE QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR TEAMS ON EQUAL POINTS AT THE END OF THE LEAGUE STAGE
    a. Goal difference b. Total points scored. c. The result when the two teams played each other.
  11. Thinking time: the QM will hurry up any team considered to be taking too much time and ultimately can demand an answer within the next 10 seconds. Bonus questions must be answered speedily but the QM will be a bit more flexible when the first team has answered very quickly after the question was asked.
  12. Queries and Objections: are usually sorted out with the co-operation of the QM & consultation with mobile phones. But if a ruling is needed these rules have to be applied: objections can only be considered when it affects the result of the match. The objection form must be filled in and the opposition must be made aware that an objection has been made.

Be nice to your QM (and be nicer to the question setter)
